I have over 25 years of experience designing and conducting randomized trials in education and other areas. My primary research area has been the generalizability of findings from randomized trials.  My current research interests involve how alternative institutional arrangements for funding, conducting, and overseeing impact studies in education affect their rigor, relevance, timeliness, cost, and subsequent use. I currently serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness.
